FOR MEMBERS ONLY

The mission of the Long Bay Model Aircraft Society (LBMAS) is to provide a forum for persons sharing a common interest in the construction and/or flying of model aircraft. The LBMAS membership is comprised of people from all walks of life who enjoy the comradery and fun that the hobby and sport afford.

The LBMAS club was founded by Ed Fanjoy (pictured at right) in 1976. He served as the club's first president.

The original flying site was 21st Ave. North in Myrtle Beach just west of US 17 ByPass next to the infamous "poo-poo" pond. Growth in the Myrtle Beach area forced the flying site to be moved during the late 1990s inland west of Conway to the present Martin Field. The club conducts a business meeting every other month (see club events) at either the field or above Ed's Hobby Shop located in downtown Myrtle Beach.

The club has had many officers and members since it was founded in 1976, a few of whom are represented below in this montage.
